What is called a "French kiss" in the English speaking world is known as an "English kiss" in France.

Odd that, isn't it?

Can you think of any other switches? I remember my French teacher telling me that some words starting with f in English start with p in French.

Fish -- poisson

father -- pere

foot -- pied

He managed a fairly substantial list, but I'll be jiggered if I can remember any more!

Do you know any interesting little tidbits about English and its relationship with other languages?

During a visit to Paris, my dad requested French dressing at a restaurant. He was corrected by the waiter who informed him it is called American Dressing. LOL
